William J. Halleck

June 11, 1946 — March 11, 2024

Hillman

William J. “Bill” Halleck, 77, of Hillman, passed away at his home on Monday, March 11, 2024. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother whom will be dearly missed by many. Bill was born on June 6, 1946 to the late Julian and Theresa (Aikens) Halleck in Alpena. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy.
On April 22, 1966 Bill joined hands in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia Wisniewski. They were married over 50 years until she preceded him in death in 2017. He missed her dearly and visited her grave daily since her passing.
Bill worked for Wickes Lumber for 39 years and took great pride in his job as well as his relationship with everyone he worked with. He had a tremendous work ethic and made many lasting impressions on those around him. After his retirement, Bill enjoyed spending his time on Long Lake with his wife.
There were many things in life that Bill enjoyed, but nothing more than his family, his dog, and a occasional Miller Lite (Not always in that order!).
He is survived by his three sons, Chris (Dawn) Halleck of Gaylord, Matt (Melissa) Halleck of Alpena, and Jess (Ashley Rhode) Halleck of Rogers City, five grandchildren, Madison, Sofia, Charlie, Lola, and Fiona, five sisters, Kim, Gay, Lynn Marie, Bette Jo, and Christine, three brothers, Jan, Mark, and Barry, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife, Patricia.
Bill has been taken for cremation from Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home with no services planned at this time. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be made to Huron Humane Society or Tunnels to Towers. Online condolences may be registered at www.karpushuntercares.com
