Penny Gersewski

Penny Gersewski, 63, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, surrounded by family. Her life was cut short way too soon, but she is now at peace.

The youngest of 7 sisters, she was the “baby” of the family, therefore, Penny was spoiled by all of her sisters.

Penny was someone who loved her sisters, loved animals, and loved doing crafts. She also loved cooking and doing her own version of “Meals on Wheels” for her sisters and friends.

She is Survived by her 5 sisters, Ruth Hilton of Lakeland, FL., Mary (Richard) Szczerowski of Alpena, Linda Walmsley of Alpena, Carol (Robert) Majszak of Traverse City, and Judy (Mark) Stevens of Alpena, her nieces, Julie Thornton, Lisa Smith, Elizabeth Little, and Christina Majszak, nephews, Brian Hilton, Scott Szczerowski, John Morrish, and Brad Mousseau, as well as many great nieces and nephews.

Preceding Penny in death were her parents, Dorothy and Edward Gersewski, a sister, Marlene (Charles) Morrish, brothers in law, William Hilton, and Edward Walmsley, and many aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at The Stone Bar and Grill, 7002 W. Hubert Rd. on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at 1:00 P.M.
