Michael A Froggett

Michael A Froggett better known as” Frog” passed away on Feb. 1, 2024, in East Greenbush, New York after a 7-year battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Mike was born on Feb 4, 1942

He is survived by his sister Nardine (Froggett) Campbell, San Deigo, California, his twin sister Joan (Froggett) Campbell, brother-in-law Robert Campbell, Nassau, New York. Sister-in-law Linda Froggett, Clermont Florida, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mike was predeceased by his mother Margaret Froggett, his father Benedetto Caltagirone, his stepfather Frank Froggett, his brothers, Sam and Ben Froggett, and brother-in-law, Floyd Campbell.

Mike graduated from Alpena High School class of 1961. He attended Alpena Community College, and the Gemological Institute of America. Mike worked several years in the family business known as Froggett Jewelry. After moving to Saginaw, Michigan, he was employed at Saginaw Township Schools, Hopevale Church, St Mary’s Hospital, (where he was awarded the employee of the year), Saginaw County Community Mental Health Authority,

Mike had a servant's heart and was very involved in his community. His love for God, family, country, and community were top priorities in his life. Mike volunteered with the Jerry Lewis telethon for over 30 years manning the fishbowl to collect money for Jerry’s kids. Mike was a member of the Alpena Masonic Hopper Lodge #199 (Worshipful Master 1992) and Elf Khurafeh Shriners, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club, Special Olympics. He volunteered to drive parents and their children to the Shriners Children's Hospital in Chicago for treatment. In Saginaw, he was a volunteer at the Soup Kitchen and Food Bank of the Old Town Christian Outreach Center.

Mike loved to Drive his mini car dressed in his Frog suit in holiday parades and bring smiles to everybody’s faces. The sides of Mikes mini car were emblazoned with -Fully Rely On God

That was Mikes motto for his life and he would share that motto with everyone he met.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

A graveside service will be at noon on Feb 17, 2024, at the Evergreen Cemetery, 1032 W. Washington Avenue, Alpena, Michigan. Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements. Online condolences may be registered at
