Martha A. Robinette, age 95, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2019, at home.
On November 14, 1924, Martha was born in Posen, Michigan to the late John and Anna (Donajkowski) Pokorski. She married Theodore "Ted" Robinette on November 8, 1947, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen, MI. Ted had preceded her in death on September 24, 2010. Martha was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, St. Anne Sodality, Daughters of Isabella for 63 years, and a past Regent; she was also a member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, charter member Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and the Rosary Society Group 12. Martha also taught Catechism at St. Anne Catholic Church and pre-school on Sunday's for St. Anne Catholic Church and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; and volunteered for several funeral luncheons.
Martha is survived by her four children: Jim (Mary Beth) Robinette of Chesterfield Twp, MI; Karen (Greg) Gossick of Oxford, MI; Marilyn (John) Worm of Ahmeek, MI; Vivian Robinette (Craig Kus) of Lachine, MI; and her three special sons: Joe (Bess) Martinson of Wakefield, NC; Dan Martinson of Saginaw, MI; Tom (Sandi) Martinson of Alpena, MI; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchild; one sister: Bernadine (Lester) Robinette of Alpena, MI; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Edward, Paul, Theodore and David Pokorski; 7 sisters: Mary Kroll, Celia Smigelski, Julia Currie, Helen Pokorski; Kay Lewandowski, Theresa Donajkowski, Margaret Richardson and one grandson Andrew Worm.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home on Sunday, December 15, 2019, from 2 pm until 8 pm; with an All Saints Rosary Service beginning at 3 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday December16, 2019, at St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish from 11 am until the 12 pm Mass of Christian Burial begins with Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating.
Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to McLaren Hospice, Mott's Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Martha.
