Marion Alice Pokorzynski, passed away on April 26, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on April 4, 1938, in Posen, Michigan, Marion was the beloved daughter of the late Edmond and Alice (Kaszubowski) Macfalda. Her life was marked by dedication to her family, faith, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Marion met the love of her life, James Pokorzynski, and on April 27, 1955, the couple married at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Their union flourished for 70 years, filled with love, partnership, and shared joy. One of their fondest pastimes was dancing together—the Polka, Waltz, and Square Dancing were special expressions of their bond and the energy they shared as a couple.
A proud and devout Catholic, Marion was an active and faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Rosary Society for many years.
Marion was also a talented entrepreneur. She owned and operated a ceramic shop. Additionally, she owned and successfully managed the Christian Book and Gift Shop for many years, providing a place where faith and fellowship could be nurtured.
Marion is survived by her loving husband, James; her children Jaqueline Pokorzynski Meredith, Deborah (Ron) Hodges, James B. Pokorzynski, Glenn (Cheryl) Pokorzynski, Linda (Kevin) Skiba, and Kurt (Stella) Pokorzynski. She was a proud grandmother to 26 grandchildren, a great-grandmother to 37 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandmother to one precious great-great-grandchild. Marion’s legacy also lives on through many nieces and nephews who cherished her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her daughters, Janet Winik and infant Laurie Pokorzynski; her brothers, Raymond and Alan Macfalda; and her sister, Arlene Jankowski.
Visitation to honor Marion’s life will be held on May 4, 2026, at St. Anne Catholic Church from 10:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Aloysius Okpala as celebrant. Interment will take place afterwards at Holy Cross Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
Marion Alice Pokorzynski’s life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication. She leaves behind a profound legacy and memories cherished by all who knew her. Her grace, strength, and warm spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
