Marilyn Lee Denmark

October 19, 1936 — December 14, 2018

            Marilyn Lee Denmark, age 82 of Ossineke passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, December 14, 2018, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center of Alpena.

            On October 19, 1936, Marilyn was born to the late Arthur and Doris (Robinson) Aldrich in Brockton, Mass. Marilyn married Clarence Ulch on November 10, 1963, and later married Ronald Denmark on December 24, 1993, in Alpena, Michigan. Marilyn was a Nurse who worked in several locations and with several organizations including the start of First Presbyterian Church's Free Clinic, American Red Cross as the Disaster Coordinator, as the Sheriff's Advocate, and aided to the Military as well. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Knights of Columbus, Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, a Girl Scout Leader, and the Girl Scout's Camp Woodland Nurse for several years. She enjoyed being a Clown during the Parades to the song "Entertainer."

            Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Ronald and her five children: Vickie (Edward) Kangas of Jacksonville, NC; John Ulch of Alpena, MI; Jodie Bishop (Mark Whitscell) of Ossineke, MI; Becky (Shawn) West of Poca, WV; Kathy Jo Ulch of Alpena, MI; three step-children: Scott Denmark and Dayna (Jessie) Johns both of Saginaw, MI; and Shannon Denmark of GA. Along with her 13 grandchildren: Megan, Holly, Brittany, Joshua, Nathan, Kayla, Jennifer, Kimberly, Stephanie, Tracy, Tori, Lissi, and Logan; and 18 great-grandchildren.

            She was preceded in death by her daughter Valerie Jean Ulch. 

            Family and friends will gather for Visitation on Monday. December 17 2018, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 2pm until 8pm with a Parish Prayer Service at 7pm.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of All Saints Parish from 12 noon until the Mass of Christian Burial Begins at 1pm with Fr. Joe Muszkiewicz officiating.

            Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery

            Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics or the American Red Cross in memory of Marilyn.
