LeRoy "Sonny" LaLonde

LeRoy Benedict LaLonde, 85, of Lachine, passed away peacefully at his daughters home on Sunday, August 31, 2025. LeRoy was born on March 8, 1940 in Alpena, Michigan. He was a truck driver most of his life. He loved his family, friends, and grandchildren very dearly. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved classic cars and being part of the Ramblin Rods for over 30 years. 

LeRoy is survived by a daughter, Terry (Paul) Martin, two sisters, Joan Platt, and Bobbie LaLonde of Texas, Three grandchildren, Joshua Scott  (Heather), Sunny Rae (Roric) McClaskey, and Christine Martin, four great grandchildren, Josslyn, Holden, Avery, and Hudson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha LaLonde, a son, Ricky LaLonde, his parents, Roy and Ethel LaLonde, and two sisters, Carol Pahlkotter, and Billie LaLonde.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Michigan for the wonderful care that they received especially from Joy, Paula, and Ashley (Hospice Angels).

There will be a graveside committal service at Greely Cemetery on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to Ramblin Rods. A. E. Ross Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
