Lee Michael MacArthur, a beloved father, brother, and friend, known for his hardworking nature, fun-loving spirit, and having a big heart, passed away on June 9, 2024, in his hometown of Alpena, Michigan.

Lee was born to James and Betty (Marciniak) MacArthur on June 23, 1954, in Alpena, Michigan. He was a dedicated student who graduated from Alpena High School before pursuing further education at a trade school to become a steam engineer. Lee's thirst for knowledge and his passion for working hard led him to embark on a career as a merchant marine for the United States Coast Guard. Later on, he found fulfillment as the Powerhouse Operator for the LaFarge Corporation until his well-deserved retirement in 2016. Switching over careers allowed Lee the much-desired time to spend with his family

Beyond his professional achievements, Lee was a man of many interests. He found solace in the great outdoors through activities such as duck hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and ice fishing on Grand Lake. However, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his friends and family and especially his children. Lee's loud and vibrant personality shone through in all aspects of his life - always willing to lend a helping hand, outspoken yet kind-hearted; he left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Lee is survived by his children David MacArthur and Jennifer MacArthur "Winifred", his stepson Daniel Schultz, as well as his brothers Ken MacArthur and Jeff MacArthur. He is also survived by his nephews Jason MacArthur and Ryan MacArthur, as well as his former wife and friend Kathy MacArthur. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In honoring Lee's memory, we cherish the legacy of love and laughter he leaves behind. May he rest in peace knowing that he was cherished by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
