Leah M. Dubie, 98, of Alpena, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. She was a kind, caring, and compassionate woman that lived a long, wonderful life. She will be dearly missed by many.
Leah was born on October 25, 1925, to the late Levi and Amelia (Brown) Prevo in Herron, Michigan. In her early adulthood years, Leah worked for the military as a civilian during World War II. She later owned and operated Mother Goose Nursery for many years. She worked for Wayne Wire Cloth in Hillman and then on to work as a cook at Jameson Nursing Home in Harrisville. Leah was a fantastic cook, loved to garden and can vegetables, as well as crochet and sew doilies and afghan blankets. She was also an avid bingo player but, what brought her the greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also a devoted member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and later St. Anne Catholic Church.
Leah is survived by her four children, Kirk (Frankie) Dubie, Karen (Jozef) Drozdowski, Kenneth Dubie, and Michael (Linda) Dubie, nineteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, nineteen great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Earnest (Julia) Prevo, Vina (Allann) Mills, Leo (Annabel) Prevo, Agness Prevo-Beauchamp, Medas (Geri) Prevo, Johnie (Sarah) Prevo, Edward (Francis) Prevo, Lorene (Alby) Rouleau, Berniece (Wilfred) Kaiser, and Irving (Dora) Prevo, and great grandchild, Amaya Dubie.
Memorial visitation will take place at St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 P.M. with Fr. Aloysius Okpala as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at St. Rose Cemetery later this spring. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to Hospice of Michigan.
