Kathleen Mary Rhinehart, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on May 30, 2025, in Presque Isle. Born on January 25, 1948, in River Rouge, Michigan, Kathleen was the cherished daughter of the late Lester and Margaret (Horvath) Lilly.
Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with her passion for animals and her unwavering compassion for others. For many years, Kathleen dedicated herself to working with animals, both as a skilled dog groomer and as a devoted member of a veterinary clinic staff, where she brought comfort and care to countless furry friends. Her love for animals did not stop there; it extended into her community where she generously shared her time volunteering at the local Soup Kitchen, always eager to help anyone in need.
Kathleen was also an artist at heart. Her creativity shone through in everything she did, reflecting her vibrant spirit and zest for life. She was a woman of kindness and warmth, whose laughter and love illuminated the lives around her.
On May 20, 1967, Kathleen found her soulmate in Robert Rhinehart. Their wedding at Our Lady of The Lords Church marked the beginning of a beautiful journey filled with love and companionship. Together, they created a nurturing home, welcoming their two children into the world—Sandra Fox and Robert Rhinehart Jr.—who were the light of their lives. Kathleen cherished every moment spent with her family, instilling values of kindness, creativity, and compassion in the hearts of her children and grandchildren.
She took great joy in her role as a grandmother to Brittany Oliverio and Cara Rhinehart, nurturing them with love and guidance, ensuring they understood the importance of family and generosity. Kathleen’s legacy lives on through her family, who will carry forward the lessons she taught them.
In addition to her husband and children, Kathleen is survived by her two brothers, Paul Lilly and Steven "Dick" Lilly, who were blessed to have known her gentle spirit.
Kathleen Mary Rhinehart will be deeply missed—a true beacon of love and compassion, her memory will forever resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
