Genevieve J. 'Gen' Reynolds
Genevieve J. Reynolds, 74, of Alpena passed away peacefully at home November 29, 2021 surrounded by her beloved family. Gen was born September 21, 1947 in Alpena to the late Anthony and Gladys (Niedzwiecki) Filipiak. She married Curtis Reynolds April 8, 1967 and they enjoyed 54 years together.
Genevieve was a member of St. John the Baptist Church where she often volunteered. She also spent countless hours volunteering for Huron Shore baseball and softball. She was inducted into the Alpena Sports Hall of Fame and has a ball field named after her. Gen was a very crafty lady, skilled at painting, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. She enjoyed spending time at the family hunting camp. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Genevieve leaves behind her husband, Curtis; daughters, Norma (Daniel) LaFave of Swartz Creek, MI and Patti (Anthony IV) Grochowski of Alpena; sons, Anthony (Rhonda) of Elmira, MI and Steven of Alpena; grandchildren, Rachel, Dylan, Amanda (James), Ashley, Justin, Madison, Karlie, Dominic, Makayla, Tori, Kiara, Anthony V and great-grandchildren, Ryder, Sabrina, and Rylee. Her brothers and sister also survive her; Christine Niedzwiecki of Pinconning, MI and Anthony 'Tony' Filipiak Jr. of Alpena and James (Elaine) Filipiak of Durand, MI.
Visitation will be held December 3, 2021 starting at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of All Saints Parish with Mass of Christian Burial following at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Tyler Bischoff will officiate. Condolences for the family may be shared at www.karpushuntercares.com
