Dennis Paul Mance 76 of Black River passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday August 2, 2023.

He was a loving husband and father, had a funny sense of humor, was strong, brave and committed to his family and the community he served. Dennis followed his father's passion for deer hunting and the beautiful surroundings of nature up north, which he absolutely loved.

Dennis was born August 15,1946 to the late Matt & Gertrude (Kaczynski) Mance. He grew up in Highland Park. Following graduation in 1964 he enlisted in the U.S. Army, A Vietnam Veteran. He served as an officer for the Detroit Police force from 1970-1995. After retirement he & family moved up north and made his home in Black River MI

Dennis married the love of his life Barbara Jane (Pentoy) on February 27, 1971 in Highland Park and raised three children.

Dennis is survived by his younger brother Dan (Joni) Mance, his four children Dawn Lynn (Michael) Bode, Kim Marie Mance, Mark Matthew Mance and Becky Lynn Holcombe.  His four grandchildren Michael James Bode, Victoria Anne (Michael) Rothenberg, Dillion O'Brien (Brittany) Holcombe and Kaitlynn Louise Holcombe.
And his six great grandchildren Madison May, Lillianna Grace, Arielle Eirene, Gracelynn Olivia, Caleb Levi and Carson Lane. Dennis was proceeded in death by his wife Barbara and parents Matt & Gertrude Mance

A graveside service will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 3:00 PM with military honors accorded by the VFW Post 2496 and The United States Army. Per their wishes, Dennis and Barbara will be laid to rest together. This will conclude all services for the Mance Family. Online condolences may be registered at www.karpushuntercares.com
